FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01. I've never been to therapy before, what shoud I expect?

First, you will find a time that works within your schedule. We offer flexible daytime, evening and weekend hours to meet everyone’s needs.

Then, we will ask you to fill out some forms that allow us to move forward and provide us with some initial information about you.

Then, we will meet for your free intake session to determine what services you require and if we are a good match.

If so, we will start your therapeutic journey using modalities that resonate with you and the issue you seek to work on.

02. Is online therapy effective?

Online therapy is not only as effective as traditional in-person therapy, but it also offers unparalleled convenience. With no waiting rooms, ease of access, and no travel, it’s a practical solution for your mental health needs. Plus, for some, it can even reduce inhibitions, making it easier to open up.

03. Is it anonymous?

Is online therapy anonymous? No, it’s not. However, it is completed face-to-face virtually, ensuring a personal and confidential experience. Your privacy is of the utmost importance, and all discussions during our sessions are strictly confidential.

04. What is your approach to therapy?

My approach to therapy is a person-centred, trauma-informed approach. Using a variety of modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solution-focused and strength-based therapies (SFT and SBT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT), we create a plan together that works for you.

05. How long does therapy last?

The length of time you are in therapy is entirely up to you.

Some people choose therapy to work on one issue and then stop until they feel they require it again.

Others come to therapy for a set amount of time, take a pause then resume if they think they need further support.

Some come to therapy to manage issues and then stay to gain or maintain new skills.

Therapy is your journey; you decide how much or how little you want.

06. How can I start a session?

The day before your scheduled session, you will receive an exclusive link to join at the time you have reserved.

07. What are your fees?

Our fees vary depending on the service requested.

Individual counselling fees are $150 per 50-minute session.

Couples counselling is $175 per 50-minute session.

Family counselling is $190 per 50-minute session.

We also offer several sliding-scale bookings filled with needs and income-based criteria to ensure equity for those with financial constraints.

09. Do you take insurance?

We do not direct bills to insurance companies but provide our clients with receipts to submit to their insurers.

As a Registered Psychotherapist(Qualifying), I practice under the supervision of a fully licenced Psychotherapist. Most insurers accept our credentials; however, we suggest that you check in with your insurer to be sure.

10. I want to cancel a session.
